Fables pilot close to reality...why I'm not happy

Comic book resources reported that a Fables pilot has been commissioned by ABC (probably looking for something to replace the flagging "Heroes"). On the surface, all of us Fables fans should jump for joy. Then you read the article a little more...

1) No one from the creative staff of the book is involved. In fact, writer Bill Willingham didn't even KNOW about the pilot commission.

2) The people that wrote Elektra are writing this. Let me repeat that: The people who wrote easily the most horrible spin-off comics movie ever, a spin-off from one of the most disappointing comics movies ever, a spin-off that used as it's climax the most derided plot element from the original Batman movie, are writing this pilot. Yeah...

Although the director they got is pretty good. David Semel has to his credit Buffy The Vampire Slayer, House, and the Heroes pilot on his resume. But still...the dudes who wrote Elektra? With no imput from Willingham? Oh folks...this does not bode well. Hopefully I'll be able to look back on this post and laugh when the pilot debuts for the upcoming TV season. I really, REALLY hope that's what I'll be doing.
